58 days. This unique beet has an attractive cylindrical shape that makes it ideal for slicing! The roots grow about 15-20cm (6-8") long and 5cm (2") wide with flesh that is dark red, tender and sweet.
Growing Tips: Plant seed as soon as the soil can be worked in early Spring. To ensure a continuous supply of fresh beets all season long, sow additional seeds every 2 weeks into earlysummer. Place the seed in rich, well-worked neutral soil 1cm (1/2") deep, with 10-15 seeds per foot. To hasten germination, soak the seeds for an hour prior to planting. When harvesting, leave 5cm (2") stub of stem to minimize 'bleeding' of the interior juice.
